Staff at allpay celebrate mammoth weight loss win in aid of charity

Staff at allpay Ltd, a bill payments specialist and one of Herefordshire’s biggest employers, have been building up a sweat for a good cause by taking part in their own version of “The Biggest Loser”.

The team of participants signed up to lose weight by going head to head from January through to March to see who could lose the biggest percentage of their weight within the three-month period. The challenge was hosted by Assistant Product Manager, Teejay Townsend, who has been running the competition for the previous four years.

With weekly weigh-ins, and gym sessions taking place at the onsite gym at allpay, the group have been staying on track and clocking up the weight loss. Whilst the contest has been running for several years, this year the uptake had far exceeded previous efforts as the number of participants tripled from last year’s attempt.

The results show the members taking part have lost a combined 239.8lbs during the 90-day challenge. The winner of allpay’s “The Biggest Loser” lost a mammoth 17.53% of their body fat. As a result of the challenge, allpay’s own Charity Committee pledged to donate £1 per pound lost to the winner’s chosen charity meaning a total of £240 will be donated to local charity, St Michael’s Hospice in Hereford.
